Plow Revolution Day हल क्रांति दिवस

जिस दिन झारखंड के आदिवासियों ने अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ हथियार उठाया था यानी विद्रोह किया था, उस दिन को 'हूल क्रांति दिवस' के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

हालांकि आजादी की पहली लड़ाई तो सन 1857 में मानी जाती है लेकिन झारखंड के आदिवासियों ने 1855 में ही विद्रोह का झंडा बुलंद कर दिया था। 30 जून, 1855 को सिद्धू और कान्हू के नेतृत्व में मौजूदा साहेबगंज जिले के भगनाडीह गांव से विद्रोह शुरू हुआ था। इस मौके पर सिद्धू ने नारा दिया था, 'करो या मरो, अंग्रेजों हमारी माटी छोड़ो'।

30 जून 1855 को 400 गांवों के करीब 50 हजार आदिवासी भगनाडीह गांव पहुंचे और आंदोलन की शुरुआत हुई। इसी सभा में यह घोषणा कर दी गई कि वे अब मालगुजारी नहीं देंगे। इसके बाद अंग्रेजों ने, सिद्धू, कान्हू, चांद तथा भैरव- इन चारों भाइयों को गिरफ्तार करने का आदेश दिया।

इस युद्ध में करीब 20 हजार आदिवासियों ने अपनी जान दी थी। सिद्धू और कान्हू 26 जुलाई को दोनों भाइयों को भगनाडीह गांव में खुलेआम एक पेड़ पर टांगकर फांसी की सजा दे दी गई। इस तरह सिद्धू, कान्हू, चांद और भैरव, ये चारों भाई सदा के लिए भारतीय इतिहास में अपना अमिट स्थान बना गए।

The day when the tribals of Jharkhand took up arms against the British i.e. revolted, that day is celebrated as 'Hul Kranti Diwas'.

Although the first war of independence is considered to be in the year 1857, but the tribals of Jharkhand raised the flag of rebellion in 1855 itself. On June 30, 1855, the rebellion started from the village of Bhagnadih in the present Sahebganj district under the leadership of Sidhu and Kanhu. On this occasion, Sidhu gave the slogan, 'Do or die, Britishers leave our soil'.

On 30 June 1855, about 50 thousand tribals from 400 villages reached the village of Bhagnadih and the movement started. In this meeting it was announced that they will no longer give revenue. After this, the British ordered the arrest of these four brothers, Sidhu, Kanhu, Chand and Bhairav.

About 20 thousand tribals gave their lives in this war. Sidhu and Kanhu were hanged openly on a tree in Bhagnadih village on 26 July. In this way, Sidhu, Kanhu, Chand and Bhairav, these four brothers forever made their indelible place in Indian history.
